What’s New 4.1 – SAP Business Objects 4.1 SP3 Session Management Enhancement
We've asked our team to come up with what they think are some great additions to Business Objects 4.1 SP3 and are happy to share our thoughts with you. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us and ask.
Session Management
You can view and terminate user sessions in the Central Management Console (CMC). For example, you may want to see which users are using multiple sessions. Administrators may want to terminate old sessions, and sessions consuming too many system resources. You might also need to terminate sessions when preparing for system downtime or upgrades.
Only user accounts with administrator privileges are able to view expanded options within the CMC panel.
How to End a Session for Another User
Log in the Central Management Console (CMC) within SAP BusinessObjects: http://localhost:8080/BOE/CMC (replace localhost with system name of your BOBJ deployment)
After logging into the CMC, Select ‘Sessions’
Within the Sessions panel, you can select a specific user to acquire the logon time and the area of the BusinessObjects tool the user is logged into.
If the session is stale and you need to free up some concurrent sessions to allow other users to log into BusinessObjects, you will want to end the session for the chosen user.
Click the user name in the lower session panel
Click the "End Session" button to end the user session to the specific BO tool(s)
You have cleared the logon session(s) resulting in free concurrent sessions available for other Business Objects users. This process can also be facilitated to free up system resources on the server or kill sessions prior to a system software or server update.
